Seemant Pujan

Traditionally, the Seemant (“boundary”) Puja took place at the village limits when the groom and his family entered the bride’s village ahead of the wedding. By tradition, the bride’s parents wash the groom’s feet, and he receives gifts from his in-laws.

Shymala Hills, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India [Map]

Jehan Numa is a 19th century palace set in five acres of lush green lawns & splashes of colorful bougainvillea nestled on the slopes of Shamla Hill. It is a superb example of a medley of British Colonial, Italian Renaissance & Classical Greek Architecture. The Palace was built during the rule of Sultan Jehan Begum by her second son General Obaidullah Khan, Commander-in-Chief of the erstwhile Bhopal state Force. In 2000, the Palace was classified as a Heritage Grand Hotel to be the first of its kind in Central India.
